What Christmas Means To Me

Christmas is a time that we can celebrate,
and give gifts to honor a unique birth date.
Cardinal holiday of the year as well,
it's the birthday of One named Emmanuel.
Coming to dwell in a world He'd pre-fashioned,
long time coming, person of compassion.
Born a pauper, in humility He came
to plain shepherds, instead of people of fame.
Christmas I claim is extra special to me;
it birthed the Author of my identity.
My Mentor stood down from his throne in heaven
to reside among men and work His leaven.
