What Can'T Be Erased

I decided to make progressive steps To erase you from my life Rid myself of memories, Of bitterness, and strife Day one: Deleting saved texts; Messages of how you love me (Now I’m deciding what comes next) Day two: Deleting pictures on my phone Images of your beauty, your joy (Wow, look how I’ve grown!) Day three: I’ve accomplished pressing “7” (It’s the command to delete voicemail) (Now it really should feel like heaven) But with all I’ve achieved Everything is still the same Love seems to be toying with me Playing its little game Cuz no matter how much I’ve deleted Love, I can’t outsmart Erasing messages and pictures are one thing But I can’t erase you from my heart
