What Brings a Man Down

Not a penny to my name, but a smile on my face nonetheless Alone in this world all have betrayed me, can't stop laughin' No chance to escape the madness of this evil world, But that won't bring me down. Dead summer heat brings out the beast in the most pure of saints A frequent flow of sweat will drive the inner child to horrible acts Take the time to smell and stomp the roses into the ground, This day can't get any better. I sometimes wonder how the fall of man came to pass The devil made me do it just isn't a valid excuse anymore Corruption of coorperations for the almighty dollar bill, Sit back and enjoy the ride. To have a dream today is all you need some say And hard work is the only thing to do to achieve it When you live in a world that is a constant nightmare, Nighty-nite. Sleep tight to you all. The straight-laced have now taken over the free earth Lie to our faces all the while with prosthetic smiles pasted on Wars started to fill the citizens of D.C.'s pockets, Democracy is the greatest invention. Understand mind you I'm not trying to be the pessimist here I have all it takes to be the kindest person in history Qualifications for popularity are souly demonic, And that is what brings a man down.
