If this tanka won for you in the contest, then congratulations! It is well written and pervasively descriptive. There's usually not much anyone can do with so few words and syllables, but you performed admirably with this one.

My favorite horse.. a stallion which I also wrote a poem called Stallion for a contest which wad on soup and it won third.. they are a brilliant beautiful animal and your Tanka has enriched this lovely creation Katherine.. good luck in the contest... am airborne now so be cool my friend..luv..
