HeavenHeaven
Today in Heaven a celebration One of God's children has been welcomed home Alex arrived at the gates of Heaven Thankfully he didn't travel alone Jesus lifted him from his brokeness What was temporary has slipped away A body of Glory gifted to him With renewed strength he can start his first day With a smile on his face and youthful strength Alex knows God's promises are true His days on the Earth have come to an end Alex did all he needed to do Special ones lost, who went before him Are all gathered to welcome him home All of his tears have been wiped away He knows he will never be alone Although on earth we are sad today Alex looks down on us with a smile He does not wish, for us to be sad We'll be reunited with him in a while Dedicated to our Brother in Christ who has been welcomed home.

Thanks and yes our loss is his gain. It is also comforting to know one day we will be reunited with family and loved ones.

Sorry or your loss, Richard. It is always difficult to lose someone, even when we know that death will be a sweet release from pain for them. Although we differ in our beliefs on what happens after death, (I believe death is a sleep from which we are awakened at Christ's second coming) I'm glad that you have the comfort you need to see you through this experience. Your poem is a very beautiful testament to your faith. Whether right away or later, we have much to look forward to thanks to Jesus.

Yes, for how can we be in heaven.....enjoy peace, love, and joy, when we look below and see our loved ones in pain...we see the devastation of war, illness, strife...what kind of a heaven would it be? The Bible says.....there is no though or memory to the grave to which we go...It is a well earned sleep then.......in a twinkling of an eye, we are awakened at the last trump. The dead in Christ rise first, and then we who are remained are caught up together with them to meet the Lord in the air.......and Heaven...without sorrow, night, death, tears......heaven begins.

The most important part of the question is weather or not we believe that Christ died for our sins. The rest is details. If we remain dormant until the second coming we will have no recollection of the time passing.

Tears laced with a light coating of joy at the end. The process to getting there is challenging, but not impossible. This is a tremendous example of such. My condolences to Alex and the family.

This is a beautiful write about your friend! We all will have our day to be reunited with God and our loved ones in heaven! That will be a joyous day, even if we do leave behind people we love here on Earth, they will come and join us later! I really enjoyed reading this delightful poem this morning my friend! What a fantastic piece, such a grand write, Great Work!!

I agree he will be missed. He passed away Thursday after a long battle with cancer. I was talking with his step daughter who is a close friend, and we talked about what age we would be in heaven, we thought it would be around 32.
