Welcome To the Night

One thousand and one lights in the sky We are but a speck in the vast cosmos Welcome to the night The creations of our best are dwarfed by then power of the universe We have just discovered a new planet Welcome to the night Our lives out brief but our hearts are spacious Lift up your hands Welcome to the night In a short while, readers we will be gone Will we wipe humanity out altogether ? With global warming and the threat of a nuclear holocaust we just might! Welcome to the night!

I do enjoy the nighttime, but the fear of not seeing tomorrow disrupts that joy sometimes. Still, we need to gaze at the moon and the stars while we have them... An interesting write that provokes deep thoughts about mortality. Very good work, Matthew!

I like this Matthew. The stars show us our place in the Universe. Our lives are short and uncertain. // Barry
