Your journey was long Here you shall find respite Come one and all Have you enjoyed your trip? We shall trip you here for sure Holding babies you stumble and fall Television reporters kick you one and all Hungary welcomes you Let us stamp a number on your arm To welcome you of course We have camps ready The trains are here too If you think we treat our livestock better Well this would be very true We have a few rations, in basements we toss to you History was lost on the last trains passing through We in Eastern Europe Have learning nothing at all Sorry but hearing the words “camps” “Trains” and stamping numbers on refugees to keep track of them, well I could not help but make the comparison. That reporter by the way, tripping the migrants and children was fired. She claimed she was afraid, yet all the other reporters seem to be calm and have no fear at all. She was fired not for tripping the migrants, but for getting caught.

Thank you very much Ralph, I know that that nothing is black and white, but I would hope compassion ranks high in the human spirit and that is not always the case!

The similarities are chilling, that is for sure. The lines are easily drawn in parallel. The reporter and the network should both be deeply ashamed. Jan

It doesn't pass the smell test. My "Seeds" poem was about all the refugee children. I should have put notes...lol

A well written engrossing poem filled with sadness, dealing with questions of lost hope, and discrimination in a whirl wind of emotions. Emile.

Families fleeing death. from a war that has lasted for too long now, and where innocent civilians get slain daily by all sides. From a war that has already lasted longer than WWI .It is so very sad and meanwhile the world talks.

Heart-wrenching...All we have to ask is ,'What if it was us leaving our homes and all we own, what if they were our children with us on those boats at sea,how would we want to be treated?' ..Guess the answer is easy to find. Oh She was scared? So she made them fall, treated them worse than dogs... How cruel can people be?. Compassion and no war..Where is the plan.Oh God it never ends.
