I wrote the first two verses of this song when we were living in the Northwest Territories back in the 1980's.

Then the last two verses came to me one morning as I was on greeter duty early in the morning at WalMart watching the door to keep out early morning shoppers until the store was open for business and let in the employees coming to work.

I was alone so I was using the time to sing my prayers and doing my devotional singing and prayers.

Gentle Spirit let me hear You. Let me hear Your tender voice. Let me feel Your gentle urgings. Let me not yield to my choice. Draw Ye ever closer to me. Let me feel Your presence near. Holy Spirit Thou art welcome. Enter in and dwell Thou here. Give me wisdom, give me courage. Give me strength my race to run. Blessed Spirit gently guide me. Lead me to the Holy One. When my time on earth is ended, Let me face it unafraid; Knowing full well that The Savior, With His Blood my debts has paid.

Thank you so much Funom. So glad you like it. It's a song I wrote several years ago that came to me complete with the tune. Wish you could hear it sung. God Bless, JB
