Weathered
Our living room’s recliner
Is a comfy place to sit.
My husband beats me to it
But I let him, I admit.
It’s Stickley-style with lovely oak
And cushions looking weathered.
That crinkly rustic look, once cool,
Now needs to be releathered.
An estimate that we received
From one whose site seems made for it
Surprised me for in truth it was
More than what we once paid for it!
For now, we’ll stick with what we’ve got.
Although it’s far from peak,
Our chair, while looking shabby,
Might just pass as “shabby chic.”
