We Speak Poetry

We speak an age-old dialect, of couplets our creators composed Powerful words, so beautifully written that they penetrate our souls We speak prehistoric lyrics, once woven in the fabric of our ancestor’s tribes Merged and misplaced in distance customs, misdirected in the thralls of time We speak mystifying stanzas, simulating the first verses ever written In a time where limericks, like ideology were illicit and forbidden We speak in a dialect so foreign to others, that only we can decipher its codes Like some forgotten ancient tongue that very few know WE SPEAK POETRY Chiquita Baity
