We Fight
Lord, often times as we talk
I don't even know where to begin
My life and soul belong to you
I reserve my heart for my wife
As I look out my window the
bright of day is engulfed by
the darkness of the approaching
storm -all turns grey
Suddenly in perfect timing my
tree and I shudder to the rising
winds of the north -
The temperature plummets
As my temperature skyrockets
the pounding in my head leaves
me searching for that which can't
be found - my eyes go out of focus
as I find myself trying to forget
that which I can not remember
and remember that which
I can not forget - confusion follows
All things are bound to your
will and there is a reason I'm
in this place - My temperature
breaks - I flush from with-in
As my eyes regain focus the
pounding decreases though
the pain still shrouds my mind
The tiredness brings sleep
I dream of a rainbow stretching
across a mountain meadow.
Behind it a waterfall descends
from the heavens forming a
clear mountain lake where
I bathe alone. Thunder rolls
across the meadow as lightning
pierces the rainbow causing it to
explode like the grand finale of a
fireworks show. The lightning kisses
the waterfall sending a single
bolt of light unto me - I awake
All is suddenly clear -
The greatest triumphs follow
our greatest tribulations and
true strength is found at the
weakest moment for that is when
WE FIGHT
