On one of my cross country adventures I went through a town called Tallulah which was a detour because they were working on the main road ... never seen such poverty in all my life ... this was in the 1970's ... wonder if it is still like that!! We keep trying to do for others around the world when we still haven't cleaned up our own backyard ... smile ...

Tim, Congratulations on your success in the “From a Birmingham Jail” Contest sponsored by: Abe Lopez with this thought provoking haiku. Your creativity radiates. Will there ever be forgiveness for past hatreds...on either side? I published a poem in my book, "One Hundered Poems for Life" called, "Crossing Over" It was a pre-equal rights solution for blacks born light. You never know who your brother is. So, let us love one another. SMILES, Dane Ann Lovingly, Dane Ann

I used to live down south, Cincinnati, if you want to call that south. Deep in Dixie? Played an orchestra tour once down deep in Dixie. Things are different down there, that's for sure. Good write. Love, daver

Great senryu. Remind me where you are again, Tim, deep in the heart of Dixie! I have such a bad memory. Were you born and raised there? I visited Alabama once and had my first big crush on the son of a preacher man. What a wicked young man he was! Luv, Andrea
