We Children Want

We children want to play In the rain and in the shower In the whole of our free hour And enjoy making the castles Out of cool sand and the clay We children want to play We children want to be free From all worries of the world From life’s every cruel hurled And to feel the real pleasure of Climbing many a fruitful tree We children want to be free We children want to be naughty With the friends and the mates Go out of ugly and hateful gates Under the sky in the cool woods In the lap of our Nature pretty We children want to be naughty
