We Can Make a Difference

What we have in this world makes me think, oh what a wonderful life We have birds singing their songs We have places to go and people to see But that's not true for all of us For some of us have nothing to smile about No birds singing No places to go or, sadly, no people to see But we can learn to keep our heads up When people hang us on the noose of regret and pessimism We can look with our blood-shot eyes and say "I kept positive" and the noose is broken We should march on, and encourage others to do the same as we have done We can say with eyes and mouths open wide, "We can make a difference!"

Ian,, Welcome to Poetry soup, I hope you enjoy the community. Here, you will find friendly poets who enjoy supporting one another. I myself, enjoy reading and commenting those who want to be read. The only time I give constructive criticism is when a poet desires it. However, if for some reason the poem is not my field I will guide you to someone who is more qualified than I. Stop by and read one of my poems if you like. My poems are not perfect, but I have a feeling you might like one. I encourage you to check out the contest page and read to receive comments. Tell me a little about your poetic skills if you like. It will be my pleasure to follow and read every poem you post from here on :) We are Lucky To Have you. Your New Poet Friend @-> LINDA <-@

Ian, I like the positive attitude of your poem. Life can be tough for many people. Not everyone is born with a silver spoon in their mouths. How we deal with the ups and downs of the challenges of daily living makes a difference. You sound like a survivor, afterall, you are writing poetry to remind us. Have a great week, Sonia.
