We Are Survivors

We take the pain, And get through our lives. For in the end, that's how we survive. The hours that seem unbearable, For the days that turn out unforgettable. We fight on strong, knowing that giving up is wrong. Remembering the ones who stayed by our sides, Even when they saw the tides. Its hard to keep going, But its our choice to keep pushing. We get to live out our lives, Because we are survivors!!

We all have our personal battles that make even the most painful heartbreak or the most unfortunate loss of a job seem like baby stuff. Hey, I have asthma and it's such a traitor. Fight on, Ettie! We're all strong especially if we can put our thoughts into words.

I too have diabetes. it's is complicated. but this wasn't just for struggling with diseases for me. it was also the struggle through life. but your comment got me thinking. too much I could say here. but just say this was a good piece. good luck.

This poem is close to my heart because its about anyone who has a disease like cancer or diabetes.... I have diabetes had it for some time now and I have lived with it....this poem is for people that have fought though and lived their life:) .-Love Ettie
