Waves of Grace

The waves rippling over her toes she stared intently at the horizon In watching one of the greatest shows the days setting of the sun It's far reaching orange tempered rays and it's sheer immense size Giving light to each one of our days, causing a squint in our eyes And as people passed on by she stood firm in her admiring gaze For she wasn't there to ask why but instead to give Him praise And as the fresh sea breeze blew and her mind became so clear This young lady already knew it was Him who was always near And as the sun would finally disappear a subtle glow would remain Lighting a sky that was seen so clearly to be expressing His Reign Each wave receding more as the baby gulls would rummage on cue Oh Lord what does this life have in store the sky turning a dark blue Turning towards a well lite boardwalk she began making her way Yet continuing in her talk and just thanking Him for the whole day In returning to her place that she was gone no one barely knew That's how it is with God's Grace and those who prayed for you

Your whole poem is beautifully written, Vincent. I especially liked how you ended your poems with God's grace that seems to come sometimes in waves, like the ocean. And the setting sun by the seashore is a reminder (in my mind) of closures. Blessings, Darlene
