I love to walk barefoot along the shore the imprint of my footprints follows me like a shadow I know they’ll vanish as each wave breaks rushing over the shingle tickling my toes I stop and turn to face the sea hoping to espy a seal suddenly a little wave appears and a black head pops up bobbing up and down in the ocean Alas, this magical moment is marred by squawking seagulls circling overhead as they follow a trawler heading home with catch of the day I wave to the fishermen and continue on my walk ''W'' New Poems Poetry Contest Sponsored by Constance La France 11/24/21

Very imaginative poem. Malta has few sandy beaches and no seals dare come near. Best for a win.

This sounds like a very relaxing walk from your comment below i notice You like to watch seals and observe them and their habits and habitat. We do the same when we go to Cape Town as there is a beach with a rocky front and penguins have claimed it and you see them by the thousand. Love watching them so cute. Great write Jan. Hugs, blessings, Jennifer.

A nice way to enjoy late afternoon. A beach walk is hard to beat, especially in the heat and always with bare feet. Thanks for sharing Jan. Bill

We have a place in the north of the Island where I love to walk (not barefoot though lol) and 99% of the time we visit I get to see the seals which I love to observe:-) hugs Jan xx
