Water

Water Our relationship started by the water – a river. The current wasn’t always strong but steady at that time However, we acquired our strength to move on from each other. Just like the water -- it came and went and came again. Our lives have been changed with every experience we have encountered In our arms, out of our arms and back to them. Yet they remain the same – the yearning to be together Our relationship traveled by the water – a sea The sway of the boat, the breeze from the ocean However, we let that piece of sand drift between our fingers. Just like the water -- it came and went and came back again. Our lives have been changed with unattainable expectations In our arms, out of our arms and back to them. Yet they remain the same – the yearning to be together Our relationship drowned by the water – a cry The rain that fell broke our hopes and dreams However, the blue sky and the wispy clouds did resurface Just like the water – it came and went and came again. Our lives have been changed with every drop of the fall dew In our arms, out of our arms and back to them. Yet they remain the same – the yearning to be together Our relationship dissolved by the water – a blessing The tears flowed as impossibilities were sketched on paper However, our unattainable love survived the laws of man Just like the water – it came and went and came again. Our lives have been changed, challenged and rediscovered In our arms, out of our arms and back to them. Yet they remain the same – the yearning to be together Our relationship flourished by the water – a kiss The hope of miracles lies within our reunion However, the mystery of the new possibilities will remain fluid Just like the water – to come and go and come again. 9/30/2009
