Watching You, Watching Me
Watching you, watching me
this nightly ritual I shall uphold,
wondering where can autumn be
waiting for a hint of harvest gold
This nightly ritual I shall uphold
been sitting on the window sill,
waiting for a hint of harvest gold
just hoping for that familiar chill
Been sitting on the window sill
wanting to go out on a limb,
just hoping for that familiar chill
and to gaze at you on a wimb
Wanting to go out on a limb
lured me in like a can of tuna,
and to gaze at you on a wimb
under the pale light of Luna
Lured me in like a can of tuna
aligned amid each changing leaf,
under the pale light of Luna
an eclipse of sorts, all too brief
Aligned amid each changing leaf
staring down into my yellow eyes,
an eclipse of sorts, all too brief
but I love the way you mesmerize
Staring down into my yellow eyes
how easily your light bewitched,
but I love the way you mesmerize
when suddenly my senses twitched
How easily your light bewitched
to and fro a slender tail danced,
when suddenly my senses twitched
my curious nature so entranced
To and fro a slender tail danced
as pure joy awakened and grinned,
my curious nature so entranced
two spirits arose in the autumn wind
As pure joy awakened and grinned
simply to engage with this feline,
two spirits arose in the autumn wind
while distant gazes did intertwine
Simply to engage with this feline
wondering where can autumn be,
while distant gazes did intertwine
watching you, watching me.
