Watching and Waiting
she stood there motionless, looking out to sea
her thoughts in turmoil, at last she was free
from the beatings that once she endured,
bruised and battered she got away,
now she is waiting for the day
her life will one day be secured,
with loving arms, being reassured
that love is here to stay.
she waits, for his ship
sails flapping, to come in sight
knowing that soon love will salve
her battered body,
only bruises made with love,
on lips, he kissed with aplomb
