Warrior Neath the Oak
The strong endure, they say
I always wondered who 'they' were ----
who were strong enough to say,
" The strong endure " ----
" Yet, what if the enduring is too much,
is it not relative? " I say
" No, " they say ----
" then it wouldn't matter, so ----
the strong endure.... "
" Oh," I say ----
" this is wisdom too "
But I've seen trees torn from the ground ----
roots and all mind you,
from a greater gale too mighty
for even oaks
I've seen a mightier warrior in my own father,
upon my sister's death....
reduced to a morsel;
I'll endure,
(til I'm an oaken-warrior)
