Warning

I was in pain, awkwardly perched on the thick branches of a tree where I had landed with a thud confused and dazed, could hardly see. How did I get into this mess, with tattered clothes and much distress? Over the fence I’d made my way, could not resist ripe apples’ pull, but failed to see the warning sign which said: “Beware of roaming bull!” - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - For contest “Warning” by Viv Wigley © 20th October 2016

Hi Paul. Nice poem, my friend. The bulls horn gets the point across rather quickly and the warning sign was right there. I enjoyed this one a lot. the visions of similar times are still vivid in my mind. Thanks for the reminder.... Robert.

Very funny poem, Paul. It had me chuckling like a chuckle head. Cool clean humor to clear the old lungs. Ty brother. And ty for the gracious words on my poem "Green Acres." I'm a city boy w/a pastoral soul. Love the quiet wide open spaces in the countryside. Just so you know. Keep loving and living, sharing and giving. Much love to you, friend.

I was brought up out in the country, Freddie. I come from a small village, and would not dream of living in a city, although I love going round cities and admiring what they have to offer! Thank you for your pleasant visit. Regards // paul

Hilarious!! Love it, Paul. At first I was thinking of Dorothy in the Wizard of Oz landing in Munchkin Land. You certainly made your point - hope that bull didn't have horns. Love, Carolyn

Great stuff Paul. There are many signs we fail to see and get ourselves into some sort of predicament. We need to look a little closer for them.

Thank you, Tim. I admit that many times I missed signs, especially in my younger days! I believe that increased age leads us to be more careful. // paul
