War Stole My Brother
War Stole My Brother

Four tours served in Vietnam
Was wounded, but returned,
Was it the hidden scars of war
That took him from us?
From my perspective, death came thirty years
Prior to his physical demise,
Nonetheless, I still struggle with closure.
Life, unlike golf, allows no Mulligan’s
Man can’t un-see, un-smell, un-hear,
And many times--Can’t forget.
A hero that is forgotten,
Becomes the greatest casualty of war.
