Wanderlust Black Country Communion 2 Contest

Live through my rear view mirror Just hankering for the time When you were there before me And all my stars aligned Time we spent together Removed dark from my day But you loved me and you left me Stuck in the moment you went away Longing for the past Onwards to the everlast Until my final gasp As dust returns to dust To my bygone wanderlust The years, they've not been kind As I regret no longer mine I can't change time I can't change Longing for the past Onwards to the everlast Until my final gasp As dust returns to dust To my bygone wanderlust You don't look back You're miles ahead I'm alone You're with him instead I can't move on From my finest hour Memory strong So sad it had to sour Longing for your hand Once again in mine As light returns to light And it all works out this time Finally do wanderlust just right

Such a mesmerizing piece! I feel the melancholy deeply woven in each line. I like the repetition of stanza 1 and 4. It’s like a song and you will repeat the chorus…..I love it!!A fav for me.

Thank you, it's the reworking of a Black Country Communion Song for a contest - I reviewed the lyrics and altered the chorus (a lot!) then put some lyrics around it on the same theme. Just thought the twist of wanderlust through time would be a bit different. Thanks for your kind words - I'll see if I feel daring enough to try and sing it before the contest closes haha
