Walls of Expectations

She was trapped within the walls of expectations Being who she was thought to be Daddy's little girl his perfect angel The teachers pet Always the good girl Straight laced Hair in place On the fast track to nowhere Leading the race Friends looked up to her Popular with all Her every move a picture She looked like a doll If image is everything She was living the dream Yet Inside she just wanted to scream She ran away to a far off place Claiming herself within her own space Exploring beyond the walls Making mistakes The new her not fake Dormant self awake Vibrant Free Solving her own mystery Understanding her history Every piece a part of her Past and present begin to blur Comfortable now in her own skin Her mind is free the girl has wings She looks down from the mountain top No longer scared She will not stop No going back to yesterday She has found a better way Dedicated to SKAT Inspired by her poem "MoUNTAN DRoP"

geez! I love what you did Richard, the poem 'Mountain Drop' was a poem inspired by PD, She spewed out the idea, and said "i'll beat you!" we both posted equal thoughts on our poems, maybe you want to take a peek at her poem........"MOUNTAIN SKIES"..... :-) the theme was her idea. We were both going for the suicidal drop. I am glad I inspired the poem. behind the mask I am all. SKAT

When you explore beyond your walls you make thousand and one mistakes. Yet you are no slave of another. Very appropriate. well versed. I love to read "Mountain drop" tell me who is the poet? I took your wise advice on my < Fire flies>. Thank you Hugs Manel
