Walking Through the Desert

So, here we are With our hurt and our healed scar As the cracks on our face Tells the story of the place We came from and what we've done With the chances we had – if only one The road map of our history Of defeat and also victory Of love and strife And this thing called life But yet we plod along Forward, forward with step and song Through desert and through sand Towards our promised land Yes, we look back from time to time To past delicacies that were sublime Our mind at times does wander back To a place of sepia and white and black But yet we plod along Even if there’s sadness in our song For our hope is to move ahead To place of rest, eternal bed

I like how you insert scripture within your writing. This is an effective piece, I am surprised no one else has commented.
