Walk Away
Walk away.
Walk away from the fear
Walk away from the insults
Walk away from the peddlers of mirage
From sycophants
From false promises
Carrots on a stick.
Don't sell your time
Don't still your soul
Don't offer memories
To tyrants
To vampires
To loss and threats.
Not every deal is worth your consideration
Not every kind face represents a kind heart
Not every courtesy requires courteous response.
Sometimes, earning respect means honoring commitments
And you stay.
More often, it means you recognize a bad situation
And walk away.
