How true, losing the foliage allows the light through in the winter. I liked this Haiku. Bill

Glad for this revisit: the warmer months does it's wonders too. Lord graced earth with forest canopies (still with us in few places, the Amazon & parts of New Zealand)

In a pine forest like we have a large number of here there is always some shade because they retain their needles all year long, but we do have some deciduous forest. Good idea for a Haiku. Thinking outside the box. I enjoyed reading this one today. Your visit was inspiring. Sara

So description and viscerally emotive Harry. I can feel the depths of the forest waiting for a reprieve from winter! It is jubilee and celebration unspoken in your ku! Lovely writing my friend!

Interesting thoughts you raise in me Harry If I am thinking Aus forest it's mid June the foliage is blocking much of the light and It's a valley area ? If its Britian, or Europe, its Early January The sun's time is short, there is hardly any Foliage the bare limbs allowing more sun in.' But still there is a darkness.' Is this just about trees I wonder ? Good to read your thoughts today.. Its overcast Here, in what remains of 'the blighty you once knew' be well )
