Waiting For Death

Death! I ’m afraid if you can trample the thorns of agony Spread all over my courtyard; You are bare footed, Any way, come, I will give you studs for your boots And armours, made of my iron ribs to shield you. My home is a maze of wants Where witch of poverty screams, Amid spider webs of blotchy bangles, Don’t be afraid, my unmarried daughter is ready to guide you in. My dream is Kumbhakarna, the devouring demon Having eaten up everything that I had Throwing thunderbolts from nidrasan Demanding another head Don’t fear, my unemployed son is sitting beside him To greet you . My God is terrible Shiva with deadly cobras around his neck, Don’t worry; my wife has tied him in her coarse saree Surveying Day and night, She is all set with garlands for you. My creaking door is a ferocious dog, never chained Don’t bother I can chain my faith in me to bring you in.
