Voice

I thought I heard a young man’s voice Whispering to me, “Where are you going, what are you doing, What do you want to be? Have you done the things you want? Seen sights you want to see, Are the goals you set yourself? a possibility? Do all the things you try to do, Ever go to plan, And if they don’t, can you find The right way so they can. Is the path you’ve chosen, Straight and long and true, Is there someone walking, Along that path with you. Do you know what’s right and wrong And if sometimes not sure, Do you know what you must do? So you can find a cure”. The young mans voice now changed its tone To a more familiar line, The questions asked became more clear, Perhaps this was a sign. That even though he passed away Which made us all so sad, He’s always there, will always care, My ever loving dad.

Hi Mark-I thought this was a really lovely poem and a pleasure to read.I didn't actually have a dad or a mum come to that only different sets of foster parents but I can empathise with what you have written. This is a beautiful tribute to your dad.I have read several of your poems and you seem a very loving man one I'm sure your dad would be proud of.Thank you for trusting us with your feelings through your words. Luv June(sylvia)
