That ancient mount climbs Until crowned by cloud, A feat I observe Each glorious morn While snug in this bed And knowing with smugness That prince of an outcrop Through this window peers in, Full of envy for soundness Of love in my marriage, Love thriving more lively Than deciduous trees Arrayed on tall slopes, Love gushing more surely Than springs spawning brooks, Love even more steadfast Than the great rock itself, So wake, dear wife, Rouse to this day— For that envious mount Let us flaunt, once again, The beauty and essence Of love.
