View From the Hammock

When sun's bright rays scorch the earth's face, when dust grit strays to cover every space, faded blossoms weep while Daffodils sleep 'neath Snapdragon's shade. Then lily buds burst in rainbow array, birds slake their thirst in water-hose spray, as Rose of Sharon competes with Herculean feats of Cardinal Vine's parade. The lazy summer breeze will make me pause while monotone of the bees will give me cause amid summer's quest to seek quiet rest in solstice serenade.
