He took her hand into his own The disparity of age and youth The memories of times once known Dared he to face the truth Palm to palm, there combined Two souls revealed they cared Warmly bonding intertwined Conveyed the love they shared A tear flowed down the old man’s face As her hand then slipped away Hiding despair behind his grace So alone he felt that day Cherishing this moment in time Through tears he smiled and thought Of those moments so very sublime Her hand in his had brought
