Us Vs Them

Laying down kindergarten knowledge for all too see Fish they have fins, and birds they have wings Standing against the crowd, boasting banners of equality Daring to discern the difference of things! You plant a seed into an egg and lo and behold something grows! A man is a man, a woman is a woman. And they call me a bigot for claiming so. (our self esteem so fragile a gentle breeze and were shattered) Unisex Toilets and Male Pronoun Hysteria 'him' and 'he' sending shivers down our spines our profound differences carelessly intertwined Servants to non-overlapping magisteria: God is Love and God Was Never Real Love is Love as well as Carnal Appeal Muddied into grayness, neither this nor that. We threw away it's importance at the drop of a hat. It's a cause for celebration when a girl becomes a wife. Not cause for demonization of a "stereotypical" life. Christ is the Head and the Man is runner up. Not chauvinism, but Scripture's order of love. Let us not degrade ourselves by boasting sameness lest we forget the gifts we're given. But be you in the Truth and there is no difference. IT'S NOT US VS. THEM! But God searching Men Women, Children. Our hearts are not hidden from his wisdom. NOTE: I never wrote about this topic before... but it's been on my mind lately. I know in this day 'n' age I'll probably be scorned for writing such a piece, but let me conclude with a quote from Voltaire: I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it.

Wow, as usual you speak my mind, just in a more epic way. Ha! Moral is at an ultimate low what can I say? Things that used to be tradition is considered, just that, the past. Like it doesn't apply anymore. "It's the 21st century! Lighten up" I feel like what happened in the past happened for a reason, and it's sad that it is not still upheld like it should be. Awesome poem!!

I just don't understand all this "male vs. female", "sexism", "rape culture", "doesn't matter who you love", kind of propaganda I hear a lot. And having adverse opinions on the matter will get you nothing but hate - but the persecution is to be suspected - it comes with the territory of reading Scripture. Glad you liked!

You have every right to say what you believe to be correct, Timothy. There are certain things that can never be changed, whatever we say or try to insinuate. Natural and moral paths have not been invented by man; they are a guide to sane reasoning; once these get discarded the world will become a shambles. Is this what we're trying to attain? Your comments always lead me to think more about my own writing than even I intended. I suppose beauty really is in the eye of the beholder. I've had some friends that believe morality is completely man made; that right and wrong don't exist etc. etc. It makes me very sad.

Each is different but that doesn't make one better. I think there is to much gender uncertainty these days. Both men an women are left in a state of confusion.

When people fight for "equality" it is a bit self-defeating since in order for someone to be equal they'd have to be the same. I don't see how one can consider homo- and hetero- marriages as the same? Here in Idaho, pastors are facing jail time and major fines for refusing to unite same sex couples. This is a huge violation of religious freedom and, really, freedom in general.

Hey Rick. My intention for this piece wasn't to say that we are "better" than one another. From God's perspective we are all equal in the sense that no one has more authority. But God also has roles that he has established regarding sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, women, men etc.
