Urban Vision

Under the blazing sun the dwellers in the asphalt homeland swelter and head home to cool down The few clouds in the sky promise no rain The urban masses reach for peace Taste summer in their very bones The old and the young yearn for relief Late afternoon morphs into memory Auto lights turn on , streetlights cut through shadow with a thousand splinters of light Eyes peer out from a thousand rooms As the blazing sun is replace by a full moon lovers embrace weary workers head out for cold beer A thousand times a thousand sighs can be heard The urban masses have their own hopes Fufillment may come later before the cycle of night and day is completed once more

Hello Matt, nice hearing from you,, And by the way I think Deborah, got a typo,on her comment. I think she meant (BLOG) not (BLOCK) well anyways about your poem, and the setting of the tranquility of the open life. The space to soar sounds great with the fun that can be enjoyed under the Urban vision, Enjoyed your poem, and have a wonderful blessed Thanksgiving day,. always,..P.D.

It's been many years since I lived in a city, Matthew, but your words surely recreated the images I recall. Very nicely written! Love, Carolyn
