Until Journey Done
I feel it in the morning as I drink my tea
That subtle sense of doubt tugging at me
With nervous anticipation I welcome what will come
For I keep moving forward until my journeys done
The path laid out leads to a sacred space out west
And I’m curiously optimistic when I am at my best
Trusting in my resolutions is what I most seek
As the thought of leaving everyone makes my knees weak
By lunch, in the ashtray, my cigarette burns
With clouds in my eyes as my stomach turns
My head spins from all the capricious noise
Is reaching for something authentic the certain choice?
I feel it in the evening, ambivalence has ceased
That sense of careful comfort envelops me
With deliberate reflection I welcome what may come
For I keep moving forward until my journeys done.
