Untethered and Rare
A blessing of narwhals bless Arctic seas
with unicorn horns held high in the air,
having never seen a forest of trees.
Navigating where the waters don't freeze,
serenely aloof, untethered, and rare,
a blessing of narwhals bless Arctic seas.
Swimming Arctic seas as quick as you please
they are the undisputed masters there,
having never seen a forest of trees.
Naturally nimble, they glide and squeeze
through the frozen pack-ice, without much care,
a blessing of narwhals bless Arctic seas.
Riding invisible currents with ease
they jostle and spar each other with flair,
having never seen a forest of trees.
They seem to fly as if on a trapeze,
awed by their beauty; I can only stare.
A blessing of narwhals bless Arctic seas,
having never seen a forest of trees.
