Unsoiled White Pages

Unsoiled white pages attract like magnets Waiting for words like silvery bits of iron filings Words and phrases seeking recognition, Hungering for an emotionally satisfying place Of lasting importance -- meaning, a message Not to be erased by this age’s mediocrity, Worthy of being a literary rite of passage That will more than merely fill a blank space Not cold or unmoving like a legal deposition But inspiring as a glorious choir of voices singing Unsoiled white pages attract with no regrets.

Me, too, Caren, but it doesn't happen very often.

Unsoiled white pages beckon me to soil them with ink, with thoughts and purpose to convey a message. A message that is inside that wants to be shared and interpret. To be enjoyed by others. To create thought and joy, or sadness. What I choose to convey to the reader, I control the start and conclusion. It is a powerful form of communication. This one is a favorite Milton. Cleverly written, with a thought provoked theme, that is Dear to my heart. Thank you for your effort on this one my friend...

Well, I really appreciate your kind and thought-provoking comments, Michael. I think we have a powerful venue for our thoughts here at the Soup. We may not always agree, but I do think we respect each other's opinions. I try my best to, that's for sure. I really appreciate your reading my work and commenting.

And what a great feeling when you’ve filled that page and you like what you’ve written. And what a bonus when other people like it too. So all hail the blank page… it’s our canvas. Terry

Me thinks someone is being too modest ;-)

It is, indeed, Terry. I've tried painting, so I'll have to say it is easier to write than to paint. But, I reckon that all depends on your particular talent. I'm still looking for mine!

Those white pages won't fill themselves, that's where we come in, filling them with our literary masterpieces. Tom

Good thinking, Tom. Although, can't say as I have had much luck with a literary masterpiece lately! (chuckling)
