Unrequited

I don't blame you for being foolish They say love makes you do stupid things The exact reason why I'm still here I'm walking around ghoulish While you sway to the same song he sings And it seems his wrongs disappear I'm the shoulder you lean on The one who dries your eyes The one you call in need I should've been gone But instead I pray to the skies I guess god don't hear me plead He ran off with your heart So I gave you mine Hoping you'd come to realization It should've been us from the start But there couldn't of been a clearer sign That "us" was just my imagination It's fine though The feelings she'll never know Because if staying by her means I have to pretend Then give me a script and cast me as the 'forever friend'
