Unplugged Answering Machine

I have updated my phones, all the latest gadgets, that is me So this day I unplugged the old answering machine No longer needed, a redundant old piece Time for the old thing to be put to rest It has served me well over the years Keeping me in touch with friends and telemarketers alike As I lifted my arm to through the thing out I sighed, and said, tomorrow Three long months have passed me by Me and the old answering machine both getting older Every day, knowing not a single message is there I check it anyways Maybe an old friend left a message there somehow Maybe a past lovers voice, I will find recorded there Alas, there are no messages for me Funny the twists and turns of life Me and the answering machine Both quiet and alone Who unplugged me?
