Unnoticed
I sit here incognito watching the world go by, I go unnoticed to passers by.
I sit at the counter sipping my brew. A cup of coffee is the brew I choose.
I see people come and I see people go not even one single face do I know.
I try to extend a kind gesture or word but it rolls off of their shoulder
unnoticed unheard.
I remember a time not long ago when strangers would smile and say hello.
That time seems gone , lost in a haze of racial aggression
social contempt and rage.
So, I'll just sit here unnoticed and try to convey a kind word or gesture to brighten some ones day.
