Unlocked

Allowing me to have that chance, One last look, one last glance, You unlocked the door, you let me in, While I wept the tears I avoided within, You sat in your chair, and stayed by my side, You let me cherish the memories as I sat down and cried, At my weakest point, you brought me back home, To all the love I've ever known, Reminding me my tears were never in vain, That the love I hold inside is much stronger than the pain, Bringing out tears like rain pouring down, Letting go of control, so I could hear the sound, Of your voice...moving through each tear, Surrendered pain only your ears could hear

Courtney, this is a beautifully penned poem in memory of your grandfather and where you grew up. I’m sorry for your loss. John

Thank you :) it was about a dream I had recently about my grandfather....he just passed a few months ago and they just sold the house I was raised there, and in the dream he unlocked the door and let me go into the house one last time...
