Unlikely Visitor
A golden orange cat caught my attention
Sitting on my front porch I had no objection
No iota from where it had come
Pets around here were somewhat seldom
A generous coat and a tail with a kink
I kindly took over the kitty a drink
Not irritable it seemed to appreciate
I thought it could make an excellent mate
An absurd thought that could be costly
Just an admirable possibility
Feeling somewhat of an obligation
I'd engineer some accommodation
Moon emits beams enhancing a bright green iris
Genial in nature that was clearly obvious
Later at the door there was a knock
There stood a man and a girl in a frock
Making sense of them I put it into order
The cat belonged to this mans' daughter
