. I see it yet,
                                                   Crystal clear,
                                                 That single tear
                                           That fell from Grandma's eye,
                                           The day we said goodbye

My-oh-my Elaine...what a sad beauty THIS is. I had a similar experience with my grandma. She was in a 'retirement' complex in Kentucky when I last saw her. She held tightly onto my arm, not wanting to let go (I think she knew) She was standing at the door watching as we pulled out of the parking lot...that memory will never leave me - Tim

Elaine, You have captured the spirit of my poem The Call of Death. You have summed it up beautifully in your comment. I thank you for this. Your poem Lasting impression has left me spell-bound. Indeed the single drop of tear contained an ocean in it for a poet's heart that feels. -Mohammad

Great poem, Lainie! I know how that feels. I remember my aunt when she had tears in her eyes when I said good-bye for my overseas job. I never saw her alive again. Thank you for your kind comment...Gert
