Unexpected Inspiration

pen in one hand cigarette in the other I quietly listen to the conversation between pen and paper the gentle touch of ink seductively courting the page enchanted, I close my eyes for but a moment allowing my hand to dance with the pen completely unhindered at first glance I see a ridiculous meaningless scribble then suddenly I realize this lowly scribble holds exquisite beauty looking long enough true magic does emerge maybe a tiny picture or some notes to a song tapping on the door of poetry it's what the soul did purge yearning for the world to see with the right peaceful flow I think once again I'll let hand and pen just go

Hello Darlene, thank you for your comment. You made me smile.I was worried that my words had no flow. I wrote it from my heart and I wrote what I did this morning (close my eyes and let my hand move across the page cuz I couldn't think of what to write) but I honestly thought this would be a garbage poem. Thank you for telling me you liked it and you can relate. It's important for poets to lift each other up. That's the only way we'll encourage the next generation of poets.
