Underwater
Fear trickled down her spine
as the razor blade appeared.
"Try it." they said,
"It'll make all the bad things disappear."
And so she obliged, without a moment to hesitate.
And this morning I found her:
eyes dead, lips blue.
The smell of regret lingering over her
like a mother watching her baby sleep.
And it was sad;
the way she went.
hating herself, hating the world.
that torturous blade.
Ending so many beautiful things
