Under the Sea
Rough plank boards running under my feet
Leading me out to the end of the pier
Looking toward the blue green ocean waves
To sit, to think of life under the sea
Is their life not unlike our very own…?
Do they think, or just try to stay alive
While swimming through their liquid world
With only their imprinted consciousness
Will they flourish when danger appears
obeying the laws of nature to survive?
Are we so unlike our watery friends
Who live in another world below our feet
Do we not struggle to live our lives as well
Whether man or creature that fills the earth
we all travel the same path to survive.
Everyone and everything has a chance to live
As long as it is destined by the whims of nature
Making connections in our predetermined ways
Who are we to decide which of us matters more
Don’t they realize, we are all under one God?
