Uluru (Uluru)
This sandstone icon
Inselburg, all alone
Dropped in the outback
Like an orphan with no home
Its family now eroded
Through millennium of time
Uluru (Uluru)
The last of it's line
Sacred and worshipped
By it's indigenous people
The land their church
Ayers Rock it's steeple
In various light
It's colour changes
From Reds to Grey's
On it's peripheral fringes
This amazing wonder
Of Australasia
Will always leave me
In a state of awe.
