Two Words
Chaos comes, Chaos goes
The story of us in a phrase,
I hate you, I love you,
The story of us in a maze,
Trapped inside stubbornness
Lost within pages of time,
To love too young, to love too long
Seems to be equated with crime,
The punishment is the present,
Condemned to being strangers,
Yet the greatest mistake is mine
Reacting to your choices with anger,
Words were placed on record
Too harsh to be forgiven,
Liquid numbness and a broken heart
Made statements about your decision,
Yet the diction was mine, mine alone
A truth too puerile to hide,
All of this time, all that we were,
Is why it hurt you immensely inside,
An only love, a disappointed friend,
Feelings changed by my hand,
Our future was still unwritten
Is what my hindsight now understands,
Too late to rewrite the truth
Too late to try making amends,
A harrowing climax to a love story
Yet the writer, is responsible for the end,
To the one who was pushed away
I owe two words which I despise,
Yet I say for the first time ,with meaning,
I apologize...
