Two Sons

Good Friday: At age thirty three You suffered and died just for me April 9th, year 2001 You joined Him at age twenty-one *Inspired by a wise and comforting letter sent by a lifelong friend in April, 2001 who gently reminded us the time of year it was...I still have the letter

I lost a friend in an airplane crash, he had just got his pilot's license and was so proud. I can remember the day, I stood crying and crying for what seemed hours, for the loss of my friend but also for the loss of his dreams.. death is not polite, it does not ask permission... your poem brought that memory back... a great write... full of emotion... and thanks for your comment on my poetry

Hi Tim. I lost a great-grandson at 23 this past August. Needlessly. It's nice to have friends that understand as indicated in this writing. Thank you for reading and commenting on my haiku.

Can feel with you, Tim! I lost one of my friens when he was out for his first job in Agentina. I did not know as he wanted to see me on Easter as well, then I received a letter from his Argentina land lady that he had died in a car accident. So this Couplet means more to me. And thank you for yout comment...Gert

Nice analogy comparing the loss of the Son of God to the loss of Daniel. Still, it must be sad to reread that letter. Very moving couplets, Tim. Love you, Carolyn
